Change of Plans....

or at least it is to us! We're scheduled to go in TONIGHT & have the induction TOMORROW...not go in tomorrow night & be induced on Wednesday....so EEEEEK! I guess I'm having a baby tomorrow! Wish us luck!

Just Because...

From a couple of weeks ago....just because I have nothing to say other than we're still waiting....

This *should* be the last one of these shots!!

Let the Construction Begin!

Image
I've got all the pieces & started stitching together the rows last night. It's not perfect by a LONG shot but it has a certain "homespun" kind of charm. I've never pieced knitted pieces together before so I guess it's a learning process. I'm excited to have this project finished! Soon!

Earth Day, Baby.

Image
Happy Earth Day! Steve has already begun planting. Of course! Why not? He's actually begun re-arranging & then planting. He bought a couple of new shrubs for our front garden & moved some of the day lilies forward which I planted last year. I think it will be nice. The only battle I have to fight is keeping SOME space for my unnaturally colored bright annuals (ie: petunias. I love petunias). The other day he said to me "The tree delivery is happening on Thursday." And I stopped, looked at him incredulously and said "what?" (you may or may not know that the first year we co-habitated we ended up having 75 seedlings & numerous grapevines that just happened to be ordered....for our yard...in town....um, we're still trying to find some homes for some of them....). But he was referring to the tree delivery at WORK not at home. Whew! I was scared for a minute! Planting season is right around the corner for him at his job. Thank goodness we're not g

Still Here...

in case anyone (other than Kate! Hi Kate!) is wondering.... Just finished hemming my "hospital" PJs (yes, I bought new pjs for the hospital) so I am officially ready. OFFICIALLY. Hear that Baby B?! Steve & I have a theory that Baby B doesn't want to make an appearance because he/she is afraid of all of his/her sister's screaming tantrums & fits of late. Either that or this one is just a MELLOW baby who is content to sleep & rest & not cry all the time...right? RIGHT??? A mother can dream......

Dahlia & Buddy

Image
Dahlia found my teddy bear "Buddy" yesterday in my closet & insisted on taking it to Grandma's house.

Finished!

The Girl Who Played with Fire. One week. It was delicious. Now back to my previously scheduled reading.

Blanket Progress

Image
The baby blanket continues. I thought I had finished all the squares, and I did but realized after looking at them more closely that one of the multi-colored squares is too short. It's supposed to be 36 rows long, & 30 rows wide but I did it 30 x 30. Whoops. No big deal, I'll re-do another one & have a spare "wash cloth" I guess. Now I have to try to figure out how to get them stitched together properly & crochet a border (hi Michelle!). Maybe if I finish this blanket, the baby will come! I should start knitting right now....

Eviction

Well, we were told last night that we are officially getting booted from our office at the end of June. I figured this was coming. What good are we if we're not even being supported by the "home office" any more AND we continue to take up valuable real estate? I, of course, have mixed emotions. I mean, I'm sad to see this thing come to an end so abruptly; I'm worried about finishing RILEY & losing our "legitimacy" (having an office for meetings, mail, etc) while trying to sell a film; and well, it just being the end. Of course at the same time I know that it's time to move on. To what, I have no idea. (that's the scary part). We were also told that now we *might not* receive our last two months of funding! Um....WHAT? We need that $$ to get through the final phases of post-production & launch RILEY to the world. I also need to give Dahlia's daycare a 30-day notice so, I'd like a 30-day notice before I lose my income. Ugh. There a

Misinformed...?

About a month ago we placed an April calendar in front of Dahlia & asked her what day the new baby was coming. She thought about it for quite a while & then very decidedly pointed to April 14th. Today. Hmmmm. Somehow I don't think she was right! But then again, her arrival took about 6 hours, so you never know. There is still time left in the day! She also is QUITE sure that this baby is a "Baby Girl." But she has yet to offer up any name suggestions. Mostly she thinks we should just call this baby "baby." How original. :)

Books!

Image
I'm the kind of person who loves to read. I have to always have a book "in play." I also have to have the next book on deck, and preferably, one in the hole as well. I DO NOT like to read more than one book at a time. I know some people can comfortably keep several stories going but not me. It takes enough brain power to keep one book going, one crappy reality television series going, & one good tv series going on DVD. But right now, my brain is fragmented. I started reading Drawing of the Three (Stephen King) probably back in February. I have read it before, but I'd like to actually make it to the end of the Dark Tower series at some point (I have only not read the last book) but it's been a decade so I thought I'd re-read them. Unfortunately I hated reading this book the first time around (the worst in the series, I thought) so reading it this time has been tough. Meanwhile... ...this book (book 7 in the Outlander Series) became available to me at the li

What's Going On?

Not much! Had yet another ultrasound & doctor's appt today. Nothing much happening. Baby was VERY cooperative during the ultrasound - there were hands waving, mouths "chewing", eyes blinking - it was really pretty cool. But other than that...... Scheduled for induction on April 27/28 (go in on the evening of the 27th and get the party started...). I really hope it doesn't come to that because I'd like things to happen naturally...but I trust my doctor so I'm going to do what she thinks is the best. Who knows, nothing was happening 4 days before Dahlia was born either!!

Skitter-skit, Skitter-Skit

On a night when I decidedly needed GOOD sleep (as I have reshoots all day both today & Sunday); and on a night when Dahlia didn't wake up at all until 6:45am, that was a day that some kind of critter decided he/she would torment me all night by making it's way painstakinly through apparently every piece of plaster & lathe in our bedroom. I mean seriously. The critters I was imagining got bigger & bigger as the gnawing & clawing noises grew louder & louder. I also imagined (I think) that I could hear the cats howling for said critters -- but I know that is a virtual impossibility due to the fact that they were two stories down snug in the basement & I just can't hear that well. I have not heard/seen ANY critters since last fall. I thought maybe there were some mice but all winter there have been NO signs. No creepy noises, no poop, no chewed anything. So I decided it must've been squirrels on the roof since there was nothing. And you'd THINK t

It's Official

Today - 36w, 5 days.... Dahlia was born at 36w, 4 days...so this is the most pregnant I've ever been! I mostly can tell this by my lack of sleep & lack of clothes that fit! haha. At least I have pretty toes. :)

Toes!

Image
I went in for a pedicure today. Only my second one ever. I have very ticklish feet & am really quite paranoid about my ugly toes, but thought that it would be so nice to have painted nails & nice feet for spring & since I currently CAN'T REACH my toes, well, someone was going to have to do it for me. An extra nice treat was that my Mom offered to get one for me as an Easter treat. :) Thanks Mom! It was so relaxing to sit there & let my feet soak. I didn't even read. I just sat there & zoned out. It was great. The chair was warm & had a massage feature, the salon smelled so good & was nice & quiet. I could've sat there all day if they had let me! Of course it's a bit cool out today so my toes are now confined to socks & shoes, but it was still such a lovely & relaxing way to start the day! The photo is not that good because it was as close as I could get! haha!

Dahlia at Church

Image
Dahlia went up to "Children's Time" yesterday at church for the first time. She was pretty wary - but she was curious. Steve went with her. She only lasted a couple of minutes, but I think it was progress!

Climber! Slides!

Image
We put up Dahlia's slides/climber thingy last Sunday and BOY was it a big hit! She was doing laps around us in excitement as we tried to assemble it. She was climbing on it when Steve & I were just holding it together. I know that over time some of the excitement will wear off but right now she is all about her slides. The first thing she asked on Monday morning was if her slides were still outside & if they were still put together. Now to get some sand for the sandbox!
