My Little Graduate

Image
Dahlia has officially graduated from the infant room to the toddler room! She's been so good all week. No crying at daycare, in a pretty great mood when we get her home in the evenings, been going to bed pretty well, and we're once again working on the "sleeping-in-her-own-bed" thing which is going...medium. I'm sure I've jinxed myself now... She's also WALKING so much! It's amazing to see her make all these changes & leaps developmentally!! I'm a proud mama!

H is for Horse

Just found out a friend of mine's 18-year-old daughter is addicted to heroin. How devastating. I don't even know what to say to her. That must be so incredibly hard. I haven't talked to her but I know that her daughter entered a rehab program yesterday. I'm sending them both all my love & good wishes.

No Cry

So yesterday & today when I dropped Dahlia off at daycare - she didn't cry! It wasn't even like...anything. I just handed her over and she was fine. No big production, no keening, no wailing...no arms outstretched to her Mama.... *sniff* Now why does THAT make me sad. hmph.

New Year's Resolution

Image
My New Year's Resolution has finally begun! Good thing there was only one thing on the list this year. Knitting socks! My friend Laura came over last night to help me through the pattern. We are just on the, um, top part of the sock (I don't know the technical term) and haven't made it to the heel, gusset or obviously toe yet, but hopefully we'll be able to get through that part of the pattern tomorrow! It was fun, so far, and hopefully soon I'll have a sock! (then hopefully I will remember how to do it and be able to make a match for it!

BWCAW or Bust...

Or camping with toddlers! Our northwoods adventure started last Saturday. Of course it took us forever to get packed up and out the door, as it usually does. We didn't make it to the Ranger Station in Tofte til 4:45pm! (they close at 5pm). It is so frustrating and no matter how much we try to pre-pack and be more efficient it gets worse instead of better. I felt bad for Dustin & Anna (hi Anna!) who were ALWAYS waiting on us. Hmph. The hiccups on this trip started when I realized on the way out of town that I forgot my glasses. Yeah, that sucks. And I have nEVER done that before. It's not such a big deal during the day, as I wear contacts almost exclusively, but at night before bed, and in the middle of the night/morning it's a real pain in the ass. 2nd hiccup came on the washboard like conditions of the Sawbill Trail. My oh my do they need to grade that road. It was terrible and while driving along it I thought the dashboard of the truck would fall off. It didn't, t

My Random Life

I just read an audition with Chris Jericho . WWE star, rock star, author, etc. Weird. A friend in the Twin Cities asked me to help out with a favor as he is vacationing on Lake Vermillion and had to get an audition tape to LA by tomorrow...and voila! 4 Track Films is there to save the day. Weird. Super nice guy. Not a bad actor, and pretty easy on the eyes as well. Hopefully he'll get the part!

Jimmy Black's Cadillac

The short film I shot last fall, Jimmy Black's Cadillac , will be screening at this year's Free Range Film Festival ! We will be showing our little flick at 9:20pm on Friday, July 24th. If you're around, come out to Wrenshall to celebrate with us!

New Meal Plan

Finally!

Laptop - RIP

My computer died today. As in "can't find your hard drive" died. I'm very, very sad. I only hope that I still have the photos on my camera of Dahlia that I had not yet saved on my work computer. It really REALLY sucks. Not in the budget for a new computer, guess that iPhone is on hold and I will go nuts if I have to work on this DELL for very long. But mostly, sad about my photos. I'm taking it in on Monday, but I'm pretty sure what they're going to say (and then I'll give them $59! Hmph!) :( Feel free to send computer contributions my way.
