Finding Time

I was so excited. I messaged my babysitter for this morning (incidentally, my cousin Anna) to ask if she could come a half an hour earlier. She could! That would give me a full hour after leaving my house & before my first appointment. My plan: Take the laptop, head to McDonalds for cheap food & free wifi & limitless diet coke and BLOG!! Well, I'm here. But I had to get August out of the high chair & get him cleaned up before I left the house. I also was in the middle of wiping counter tops & putting away breakfast stuff. So didn't leave until probably 9:10am. Then, had to drop off my yarn & pick up the new yarn for the day. That was quick but I probably spent 4 minutes trying to find the parking ticket that I need to pay from last week in my mess of a purse. I thought maybe I could just stop at the police station & pay it since I was downtown & kidless. That's no longer an option apparently. Okay, now 5 minutes wasted. Travel time to M...

Toes!

Image
I went in for a pedicure today. Only my second one ever. I have very ticklish feet & am really quite paranoid about my ugly toes, but thought that it would be so nice to have painted nails & nice feet for spring & since I currently CAN'T REACH my toes, well, someone was going to have to do it for me. An extra nice treat was that my Mom offered to get one for me as an Easter treat. :) Thanks Mom! It was so relaxing to sit there & let my feet soak. I didn't even read. I just sat there & zoned out. It was great. The chair was warm & had a massage feature, the salon smelled so good & was nice & quiet. I could've sat there all day if they had let me! Of course it's a bit cool out today so my toes are now confined to socks & shoes, but it was still such a lovely & relaxing way to start the day! The photo is not that good because it was as close as I could get! haha!

A Date With Me

Yesterday I had a date with me. I have done this 3 times now since Dahlia was born - and it all centers around my dentist appointment. Exciting, no? I HATE the dentist. But I go religiously because the thought of something "going wrong" and me needing "work" done is absolutely terrifying to me. My dentist(s) rock - they are up to date with technology (even had digital x-rays done yesterday) and my hygienist is GENTLE and I love having the feeling of clean teeth - so my anti-dentite stand comes not from them, but Mr. Old School No Personality Dentist that I had as a kid. (who incidentally my mother worked for). Anyway - my reward for going to the dentist like a good girl is to eat at Arby's afterwards - because 1)it's right there and my appointments are always around lunchtime; 2) I like roast beef fast food sandwiches 3) I almost NEVER eat fast food; - So it's my "treat." I learned in college to always reward yourself in some simple way for doi...
