Minnesota (N)ice


Greetings from springtime in Duluth.
A short walk on the Lakewalk after brunch yesterday yielded some pretty awesome sights of nature's ice sculptures. The blizzard force winds last week (no snow) made Lake Superior wild with giant waves. The shoreline & trees at the head of the lake took the brunt of it and left us with quite a spectacle.



There were some cute babies out there too...

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

Privacy, please!

Well, the time has come. After 6 1/2 years (!?) Naturally Optimistic will be going private at the start of the new year. If you are interested in still reading my INCREDIBLY exciting posts & commenting on my cute children, email me & I will put you on the invite list. Like I said - it won't happen for another couple weeks, but there ya go. Time to make a change.
