Inauguration Day!

I must admit I'm sitting here watching the inauguration & all that comes with it and getting a little choked up. And nothing's HAPPENED yet. This is the first time I really remember paying attention to the pomp & circumstance of this day and I'm excited for the first time in years. I know things won't be perfect but I'm so filled with hope. Yup. it's true. I'm drinking the kool-aid, I'm hoping for the best.

I'm trying to get Dahlia to comprehend the gravity of what we're watching, but mostly she just wants to play with the cat's grass. Someday she'll get it.

I'm thankful today that I have a job that allows me to work from home so I can soak it all in.

UPDATE: As soon as President Elect Obama stepped out & was announced, Dahlia spilled the cat's water bowl while Beavis simultaneously puked down the radiator. What timing. Nice.

Can you believe people actually CALLED the office during his speech and acted like there was nothing going on special in the world. I mean, seriously.

Well at least Dahlia and Beavis waited until the speech was over...

oh no, the disruptions & puking were right BEFORE the speech. Ay yi yi. Then Dahlia started crawling towards the puke so I had to get to it very quickly! Wheeeee! the glamorous life of a Mother.

It's no secret that I've not been a big fan of Obama - especially his economic principles...

but I, too, - the political cynic - find myself emotional, filled with hope. He's got the brains to help usher in a new era of greatness in this country. The simple fact that he inspires so many gives me hope about our willingness as a society to live better lives than we have done the past couple decades.

I pray he can live up to all of these expectations.

Do you think that means Beavis is a Republican? ;) LOL I think my Dad probably wanted to puke down the radiator when Pres. Obama stepped out on the podium as well.

Beavis is definitely a bleeding heart liberal, although he subscribes to neither political party. He declares himself "independent."

Did you see her DRESS? I was all about watching just to see her dress. It was very princessy! And I want to know why the little girls didn't get to go to the ball. Phht.

I think the daughters were happily entertained at their new home participating in a scavenger hunt designed just for them! Probably much more fun than hanging out at an adult's party.
