Black & White

So I'm going to the "Black & White" Ball for the MN Film & TV Board in February. We figured it would be a good opportunity to do some networking with other film/people-with-money-types in Minnesota. We need to get out there, ya know? So, it'll be me, Steve & Jason. It's a formal affair and sounds fun. The theme is "film noir." There are the usual - music, drink, silent auction, etc. I'm looking forward to it.

I asked yesterday how "formal" formal is...Ie: would Steve be able to wear his black wedding suit instead of a tux (yes). The woman replied that some men would be in tuxes, some in suits; some women in gowns, some in cocktail dresses, others in vintage...the only requirement, obviously, is black & white.

So I got to thinking - I should wear my wedding dress! It's sort of 1940's-ish in style, and although it's not WHITE I think the "candlelight" or "ivory" or whatever it is would probably pass and when will I EVER get to wear it again?

But then I had the depressing thought...oh my god, there is NO WAY I'm going to be able to fit into it. It's only been 2 1/2 years but I'm a completely different shape. I didn't have the heart to try it on last night- have to get a few days of ab routines & water flushing in before I submit myself to that. I may be going the vintage route after all!!

A ball, how fun! I get to go to them from time to time. I've got half of a closet full of formal dresses. I love getting dressed up!

You know, J Crew's got a lot of really gorgeous dresses in their sale right now...

Love your wedding pics! Nice dress! I swear I know the Sarah bridesmaid... where did she go to school? High School/College? I can't place her.

Mama - I have NOTHING to wear. Quite literally. Well, I still have yet to try to squeeze into my wedding dress and/or my one little black cocktail dress but I pretty much can imagine the outcome. POoh! I may have to check out the J Crew stuff!

GTR - Sarah & I both went to UMD in the early 90's. She's originally from Rochester.

Thanks! I knew she looked familiar. I'm from Rochester, too!

I love your wedding dress. And don't think about not fitting into it. You've had a baby for God's sake. If it doesn't fit, then so be it. You have a little one to cherish.

Yeah, the wedding dress does not fit. *sigh* the boobs are way too big now for it. So....back to the drawing board!
