Whoops!

Ah the clumsiness associated with pregnancy has begun...

Well it began a while ago.

After a weekend shoot I was unloading our craft services supplies (food, paper plates, beverages, etc) and was dealing with two rather full crockpots of creamy wild rice soup which didn't get eaten (grrrr). I had them both on my counter and planned on just dumping them out because really? What was I going to do with 30 servings of wild rice soup that the smell of made me a little queasy? As I picked up one crock pot, I caught the 2nd one with the cord or my hand or something and I ended up dropping the entire thing on the floor of my kitchen. Luckily MOST of the soup stayed confined to the crockpot (well, and the floor) but I did get quite a bit of auxiliary splatter on my baseboards, cupboards, nooks & crannies underneath cupboards, oven door, dripping into the over drawer etc. Boy that was fun.

Next last week I was dishing up some pork chops & potatoes that I had made for dinner and promptly dumped my entire serving splat on the kitchen table about 5 inches from my plate. Lovely. Steve just looked at me like "what is your problem?"

And last night again while serving myself food I completely missing my plate and ended up with my serving of rice more in the center of the table than any where near the plate. Yes, I ate it anyway.

This makes me a tad nervous when I am lugging gear that costs thousands of dollars. Perhaps I should invest in bungy cords and just strap everything directly to me. *sigh*

Don't worry, it gets better. In a year or so you can blame any clumsiness on Chick Pea.

Peder's right. Once you start adjusting to the hormones and the way your body grows. Your worries about lugging equipment will abate soon since you WON'T be lugging equipment in a couple of months (listen to me - I did it with my lighting equipment, wtf??).

Just wait until you start forgetting words. Never thought it would happen, but alas :)

A pandemic game time & conversation (via Zoom)   Well, we're about 13 months into this pandemic and I should've been back blogging then. I mean, I was home an awful lot. I could've done it. Penguin Shenanigans

For our 2020 Winter Reading program, there wasn't an overall theme. I decided to create my own theme. And the Penguins took over the library! I printed out real-to-life sized photographs of penguins...an Emperor, a Fairy, a Chinstrap and a Galapagos Penguin to be exact. I put them on the walls in one area. My hope was that kids would stand next to them and measure up - and they sure did! It put a smile on my face every time. Above each penguin I included some facts. Usually where they lived, what they ate and any quirky stuff about them. It's always great to be able to provide a little learning opportunity along the way. We also included penguin voting. I always think it's fun to add a pre-math activity when I can. I made 4 buckets with a photo of each of the aforementioned penguins. I figured it out....

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.
