Phone: update

So I may have found my lost phone in Fargo but as soon as I got back to Duluth last night....it died.

Dead, dead dead.

I can plug it in to the charger where it will then proceed to flash on and off and never shut off nor turn on completely.

I cannot make calls, pick up voicemails, or anything else. It stinks. I tried my old battery, I tried my new battery, nothing. Occassionally it will randomly vibrate which makes me think it may be possessed.

It wouldn't be *that* big of a deal but as a land-line-less household I feel a bit hamstrung. Especially since I'm working from home today.

I guess I'll be making a stop at the Verizon store today.

Hmph.

If you're not up for your "New every 2" yet and they couldn't help you - you can always try EBay. My friend and her husband have done that several times and it's worked out well for them. Good luck!

May Day

when I was growing up it was common practice to do "May Baskets." Small, sometimes dixie cup sized, "baskets" filled with candy & a few treats. Maybe some flowers or something. No big deal, but it was fun. We used to deliver them to friends - ring the doorbell and run away. The Dreaded

So the time has come. The time that I've been dreading. The time to find some daycare for Miss Dahlia. I hate this. I wish I could stay home with her and devout all my attention to her but I can't. And because I can't, I have to find someone to look after her so that she DOES get loads of attention and I can work (and hopefully continue to bring home a paycheck). I don't know where to look. I don't know if I should try to find a home daycare or a center or a nanny. I don't know how I"ll be able to afford it. There are so many questions. There is a daycare a couple houses down from us (home) but I don't have a good feeling about it. Although it would be supremely convenient, I've never seen the kids play outside except when I've seen a couple of them (older) racing down the middle of the street unsupervised. I don't know. Just leaves me with a not-great feeling. I like the idea of finding a nanny type to come to our house, but I know it won...

I figured it out....

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.
