At last!

Finally an appreciable snowfall in Duluth - OUR FIRST (real snowfall) this year! Whohooo!

Steve is GIDDY. We have plans to go snowshoeing as soon as we dig out a bit. More snow in the forecast for tonight. I hope we get another 6 inches or so...hee hee - snowday tomorrow? That would be heaven.

This snow is very drifty - so in parts of our yards we have a consistent foot of snow, in parts we have big drifts (which REALLY make me want to eat Dairy Queen ice cream, I don't know why....) and in areas you can still see the grass (wind tunnel effect - ha!). Steve is busily shoveling the walk with a HUGE smile on his face. I'm inside looking out and blogging and loving it. we finally have our winter wonderland.

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

Privacy, please!

Well, the time has come. After 6 1/2 years (!?) Naturally Optimistic will be going private at the start of the new year. If you are interested in still reading my INCREDIBLY exciting posts & commenting on my cute children, email me & I will put you on the invite list. Like I said - it won't happen for another couple weeks, but there ya go. Time to make a change.
