Meh

Not much to say today - feeling fairly crappy about a relatively unattended party and pouting.

I want to know why people can't have the courtesy to do something simple like RSVP to a g.d. party via Evite? It takes literally 2 seconds and you don't have to even comment. PLUS I know you've looked at it - it tells me when you do so don't use that "I didn't get it" excuse. Please.

Also - if you did RSVP (thank you by the way) and said that you're coming but then don't come. You piss me off. Totally piss me off. Were you raised by wolves? WTF is wrong with you? Another 2 second phone call, IM or email would suffice to say "so sorry - something far more fabulous came up and I'm blowing you off."

And for you "maybes" out there - don't tell me maybe when you really mean "snowball's chance in hell" - I will cut less veggies next time if I'm not hoping that the maybes show up.

Anyway - Merry F'ing Christmas - I'll be better tomorrow. 1/2 day and a trek to Austin to see the fam.

Oh baby, this is my biggest pet peeve about people too. I don't get it. Get ready for it with the wedding, because they'll do it then too.

I live a bit far out for a lot of people to make it to parties, but I really dislike those who say they're coming and don't. Getting organised is so easy these days with reminders, mobile phones etc.

Have a great Christmas, I hope that the cheer of the season overrides poor party showout!

A pandemic game time & conversation (via Zoom)   Well, we're about 13 months into this pandemic and I should've been back blogging then. I mean, I was home an awful lot. I could've done it. Penguin Shenanigans

For our 2020 Winter Reading program, there wasn't an overall theme. I decided to create my own theme. And the Penguins took over the library! I printed out real-to-life sized photographs of penguins...an Emperor, a Fairy, a Chinstrap and a Galapagos Penguin to be exact. I put them on the walls in one area. My hope was that kids would stand next to them and measure up - and they sure did! It put a smile on my face every time. Above each penguin I included some facts. Usually where they lived, what they ate and any quirky stuff about them. It's always great to be able to provide a little learning opportunity along the way. We also included penguin voting. I always think it's fun to add a pre-math activity when I can. I made 4 buckets with a photo of each of the aforementioned penguins. and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.
