23. Cork Art

We tried another project I found on Pinterest with the kids the other day. I have oodles of corks (for crafting purposes, oh it's a shame when I have to drink some wine JUST so I can get some corks...I jest...). Unfortunately I didn't have brown paint, so I had to mix some with mixed reviews (ha!) but I think it worked out okay. Even August got into the action!

Like Sarah's potato stamping, I was hoping this would last a WHOLE lot longer than it did. Ah well. Ya win some, ya lose some....

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

Privacy, please!

Well, the time has come. After 6 1/2 years (!?) Naturally Optimistic will be going private at the start of the new year. If you are interested in still reading my INCREDIBLY exciting posts & commenting on my cute children, email me & I will put you on the invite list. Like I said - it won't happen for another couple weeks, but there ya go. Time to make a change. I'm kind of sad because I've met some cool people - randomly - by having this blog....but the phase of putting all my stuff out there for everyone to read is over. Thanks!
