FARGO FILM FESTIVAL

Okay - I'm just about peeing in my pants because.... NEWTON'S DISEASE is an official selection at the 2007 Fargo Film Festival ! I was just checking my excel spreadsheet (I'm a dork I tell you!) that has my list of festivals submitted to and rejected from and I hadn't heard from a few of them. This post was originally going to be about me NOT getting into the DC festival (which we didn't - but I browse the films anyway) and went over to the Fargo website and lo and behold! THERE WE WERE!!!!!!!! Of course I immediately called Jason because I'm so excited! And I also practically simaultaneously called Steve and was excited all over again! The festival is March 7-10 so they're not too timely about letting their filmmakers know, but that means I CAN GO because I will be at my new job! Eeeeeeeeeek! I'm just beaming all over the place. Finally a chance for people who don't know us to see the film IN a theater (which very much helps with this film). Oh god,...

Breaking Records?

I'm not sure if there is a record for the most times being rejected from film festivals. But I am starting to feel like we're getting close. OFFICIALLY rejected from SXSW (again). At least they were pithy in their no-doubt-created-by-MS-Word's-Mail-Merge-Function and just said "we won't waste your time, unfortunately your film Newton's Disease was not selected for this year's festival. Eh, whatever. I wish I cared more but I don't. The only thing I care about is constantly shelling out $ to get into these stupid things. I'm pretty sure there is some guy out there that has made a MILLION short films and submitted them thousands of times to festivals all over the world. That guy has me beat. Hands down. This does still suck.

Festival Update

I submitted Newton's Disease to several festivals last week. I am not one to wait with baited breath for the results because so far we are a big fat ZERO for festival acceptance. So.... Washington DC International Film Festival Sedona Film Festival & Workshop Seattle International Film Festival (again) SxSW (again) Ashland Independent Film Festival And not submitted yet, but soon, Fargo Film Festival (why not? It's close!) OBVIOUSLY if my film gets into a festival I will blather about that nonstop...but so far...
