Books!
I'm the kind of person who loves to read. I have to always have a book "in play." I also have to have the next book on deck, and preferably, one in the hole as well.
I DO NOT like to read more than one book at a time. I know some people can comfortably keep several stories going but not me. It takes enough brain power to keep one book going, one crappy reality television series going, & one good tv series going on DVD.
But right now, my brain is fragmented.
I started reading Drawing of the Three (Stephen King) probably back in February. I have read it before, but I'd like to actually make it to the end of the Dark Tower series at some point (I have only not read the last book) but it's been a decade so I thought I'd re-read them. Unfortunately I hated reading this book the first time around (the worst in the series, I thought) so reading it this time has been tough. Meanwhile...
...this book (book 7 in the Outlander Series) became available to me at the library after it had been on hold for several weeks. Not wanting to miss my chance at reading it, I put Drawing of the Three on hold on my nightstand & dove into it. It's long. I get it for 8 weeks. I'm on week 5 I believe. I'm over half-way through....
...but...then...
....THIS book became available to me after weeks & weeks of it being on hold for me at the library. I reserved this one THE DAY I finished the first book (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) & was chomping at the bit to read it! I only get this book for TWO weeks - so I did the math. If I read 35 pages per day for the next 14 days I can accomplish it. Provided I don't have a baby before then. THEN I have to return it & jump back in line. It's far too delicious to put down.
So now, me, who doesn't like to read more than one book has THREE dang books going...not to mention my Mind Over Labor book & various other assorted pregnancy books that I read here & there to "refresh" my memory.
With all that said, I would very much like to be lying on the couch all day today reading & not sitting at work cutting checks & entering receipts into Quickbooks.
