These Boots are made for...

After 18 years of having the same Sorels, I decided that it was ABOUT TIME that I got a new pair of boots. I do live in DULUTH after all where it is reportedly cold & snowy for half of the year (although this year all the snow is far to the south of us, pooey). I do like to be outside & play in the snow - whether it's x-country skiing, hiking or snowshoeing - which a good pair of boots comes in handy for!

So I took my $145 REI dividend which has been sitting there for 2 years and I bought myself a new pair of boots! And it didn't cost me a dime. And they delivered them to my door. Merry Christmas to me!

(**disclaimer: these boots did not COST $145...but with a little Christmas shopping + delivery fees I managed to use up my dividend for the most part...**

Are those the McMurdo's?? Those are the EXACT same boots I just got! My 10-year-old Columbia's literally dry-rotted so I had to replace them. Are these heavenly? I have been really happy (and it sounds like they will come in quite handy this week).

Yes! They are McMurdo's! They are too big - because they don't make boots for people like me (or Dahlia) but oh well, Nothing a thick pair of socks won't fix. They're very stiff on the ankle/shin but I will get used to them. They give me extra height which I dig! :)

I agree they are a bit stiff through the ankle, but I feel like I'm already getting used to them. I think they are breaking in a bit, too. That top fur and the fleece inside is soo cozy! I look forward to putting them through their paces this weekend.

I think it's a bit wild that with all the boots out there we bought the same ones. :-) That just makes me happy.
