*Sniff*

Just walked over and dropped Miss Dahlia off at daycare. *sigh* She wanted to play right away...I wanted to hang around and make sure she was "okay." I left. I felt a heavy sadness descend. I walked home while crying behind my big sunglasses.

It's sooooooooooo quiet here. Even the kitty is quiet.

I'm not sure I'll get a lot done this morning, even though I had big plans to.

Be kind to yourself. You were home with her for over a year and that's amazing! But you both need some space. She'll do fine and you'll adjust too. Don't rush yourself. Maybe try to do one thing today that will make you say, "I can't do THAT with Dahlia here!"

It is hard, but for us, daycare has been so great. She loves it, and we see her being challenged in ways we never would have thought to.

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

The Screaming

Someday I'll stop posting about my daughter's inability to sleep & the screaming. But today's not the day! New developments from the house of NO SLEEP. Now instead of going to bed awesomely on a very regular basis, she NEVER goes to bed! Not only does she NOT go to bed, she still wakes up in the middle of the night! She still will not sleep in her crib and she still screams for hours and hours. It's getting worse! I guess be careful what you complain about, eh? Last night she cried, no, screamed, from the time we put her down (just after eight) until almost 10 o'clock. Steve or I would go in every 15 minutes or so to "comfort her" (fat lot that did) and she was incredibly CLINGLY, grabbing on for dear life. What is going on? Finally nearish to ten I got her up and brought her downstairs WHERE she was happy as a lark. Playing with Beavis, climbing on us, requesting Baby Einstein videos (declined). I was exhausted and wanted to go to bed. So much for any...
