Guess Who Slept All Night?

Me! And Dahlia! and Steve!

We need to change how we put Dahlia to bed. That is a major problem. Steve usually does the bedtime routine which includes giving her a bottle in her room - and a lot of times they fall asleep. Obviously putting a sleeping baby in a crib is NOT recommended. And that's what's been happening. So....we're trying really hard to put her down awake...which is tough because she falls asleep fast (just like her Mama!). On Monday we tried but she fell asleep too quickly (and we had a miserable night)...last night she went into her crib still awake, cried for about 5 minutes and that was it. I'm probably jinxing it by talking about it...but I had to share the good news. I would hope it becomes a trend.

We used to do the same thing. I would rock her to sleep with a bottle and pray that she didn't wake up when I layed her down. If so start all over. I finally had enough. I was so frustrated. We started to give her a bottle about an hour before bed and talk about "ok, it is close to bedtime now" and put jammmie on and keep telling her that it was close to bedtime. Then when it was bed I would go in there and read 3 books and lay her down. It worked amazingly well and also made taking the bottle away easier too.

Congrats - even one night makes life seem so much better. We always put Maddy in fully awake - works for now.

Congrats! We're still working on that whole thing. We have to rock her to sleep every night. even though she drops off almost immediately, she won't just lay down and fall asleep in her bed. We've had some good nights lately, but they still involve multiple trips to replace the pacifier. We need to work on this a little harder, but we just can't seem to be consistent on it. It's so hard!
