I've often wondered why moms pack extra clothes for the baby and never for themselves..... I seem to be the one getting dirty around here!

Oh yeah. When I made my blessedly brief return to work I always had a fresh shirt in my car. Even though I just had to get her from the car to daycare and back again at the end of the day - anything could happen. (never had to use it, though)

Now just wait until you have two of them. I'm amazed that the addition of one more child seems to have tripled the total poop I deal with. I swear, even the toddler poops more now.

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

Privacy, please!

Well, the time has come. After 6 1/2 years (!?) Naturally Optimistic will be going private at the start of the new year. If you are interested in still reading my INCREDIBLY exciting posts & commenting on my cute children, email me & I will put you on the invite list. Like I said - it won't happen for another couple weeks, but there ya go. Time to make a change.
