Working Sucks, Let's Face It

Is it wrong to want to work in a positive, creative environment? In a place where creativity is fostered, ideas are brainstormed, people receive constructive criticism instead of glares of disgust? Is it wrong to want to be grateful for the opportunities presented each day or for being allowed to learn new skills, develop new talents & explore imaginations? Is it so wrong to want to be respected, not treated like a doormat, but an equal?

I'm fed up.

I know it's your own company, and your company is pretty dang new - so while it is painful - it's going to take time to work out all the crap - you know? Like beating people over the head when they're being stupid. I'm assuming your partner (I think he's your partner) is the un-optimistic one. Tell him to take a hike if you have to. If it's your own company, it should reflect who you really are. And sad, pissed and grumbly about filmmaking is not the Carrie I know!

I was just thinking this the other day - the working sucks thing. It's especially hard when you would rather be spending your time enjoying Dahlia rather than dealing with someone who acts like a baby when he is a full grown adult. Sorry, making some assumptions here based on history :)

Keep in mind that while it is your own company, you are one half of the equation and can provide that type of an environment for others, but you can't change the other half. If that makes sense....

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

Privacy, please!

Well, the time has come. After 6 1/2 years (!?) Naturally Optimistic will be going private at the start of the new year. If you are interested in still reading my INCREDIBLY exciting posts & commenting on my cute children, email me & I will put you on the invite list. Like I said - it won't happen for another couple weeks, but there ya go. Time to make a change.
