Just In Case...

...this blizzard becomes as big of a deal as they're advertising (I'm skeptical because they're usually WRONG about weather 'round these parts)....

So - I picked up a gallon of milk & OJ (we're almost out), some lunchmeat and a bag of Doritos....in case we're snowed in. Two new flicks from NetFlix await our viewing pleasure and the babe is stocked up on formula & diapers. Bring it on.

That being said - I would rather we have a blizzard that consisted of 60 degrees and not 60 mile an hour winds.

You make me laugh! Doritos instead of a loaf of bread? You're living on the edge, my friend! There's no milk or bread at Hy-vee. None. I got bagels!

They've downgraded us to a winter weather advisory and only 6 inches total. But the hysteria of blizzard warning with over a foot of snow? Yeah, no groceries. It's all going to melt by Saturday, don't they know?

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

Privacy, please!

Well, the time has come. After 6 1/2 years (!?) Naturally Optimistic will be going private at the start of the new year. If you are interested in still reading my INCREDIBLY exciting posts & commenting on my cute children, email me & I will put you on the invite list. Like I said - it won't happen for another couple weeks, but there ya go. Time to make a change.
