Park Point


Steve & I went out for some fresh air before starting on the baby's room this afternoon. It was a gorgeous day - especially for November in Duluth. The sky & lake were so blue, the air crisp, the temperature mild. It was lovely.




I didn't walk as far as Steve - I opted to bring my blanket and book and spent some time relaxing on the beach. The sound of the waves was fantastic and it was a beautiful day.

yeah, except WHY would I leave the house without any makeup on. *sigh* I'm not even a *makeup person* but there are obvious reasons....DOH.

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

Privacy, please!

Well, the time has come. After 6 1/2 years (!?) Naturally Optimistic will be going private at the start of the new year. If you are interested in still reading my INCREDIBLY exciting posts & commenting on my cute children, email me & I will put you on the invite list. Like I said - it won't happen for another couple weeks, but there ya go. Time to make a change.
