Update on Grandma

The latest news on my Grandma is well, pretty much the same. My Dad and some of his siblings met with the hospice nurse to find out about that for an option. Unfortunately there are not any openings for quite a while. The nurse said that with this type of cancer there is not much pain. She will just continue to grow weaker and sleep more.

This is the part that is the kicker - and so very much my Grandma....

She's making her own funeral plans!! *sigh* That speaks volumes to me. I get to see her tomorrow.

Oh Carrie. I hope that this Thanksgiving is a very special time for your family to all be together and spend time with Grandma. Sometimes it's these moments that mean the most. Thinking of you.....

and IT'S A GIRL!! I'll do a proper introduction later and the whole story and everything but in the meantime, we had a baby girl. 2:15pm on Friday afternoon (I posted at, what? 10;30am? You do the math!!). Her name is Dahlia Marie and she weighed in at a whopping 6lbs even. 19 1/4" long and so incredibly gorgeous (although, I might be a wee bit biased). The birth was the most amazing experience I've ever been through and my mind is still, well, blown, quite frankly. I am so tired though...time for a quick nap before we try to feed again.

Privacy, please!

Well, the time has come. After 6 1/2 years (!?) Naturally Optimistic will be going private at the start of the new year. If you are interested in still reading my INCREDIBLY exciting posts & commenting on my cute children, email me & I will put you on the invite list. Like I said - it won't happen for another couple weeks, but there ya go. Time to make a change.
