Watch...

We have a tornado watch going on right now. These are HIGHLY unusual in Duluth. In Austin we had them ALL. THE. TIME. In Duluth I remember one back in 1995. I was working at a hotel, there were 3 touch downs over the hill. That was fun. Blech.

Right now it's sunny (finally!) & beautiful. Hard to believe that there is severe weather on the way.

Online Private Journaling

If you're interested in having a private, online journal (because let's face it, it's faster to type than to write longhand...although longhand is so much more romantic, isn't it???) check out this site: 750 Words. It's pretty cool. It's free. It tracks a bunch of stats about your writing (algorithms are neat!) and it's a good place to empty your head in a timely fashion. I always *mean* to pull out my actual journal, but rarely do.

Check it out!

Brewing...

I have an idea brewing. It's fun. It's exciting. To want to brainstorm & research & daydream. This hasn't happened for a while.

Not sure about the feasibility but it's something I keep going back to....

And it gives me an excuse to plan a wine-fueled brainstorming session with Julie.

heh....

Misread Cues

Dahlia has been CRANKY today. Wow. Crabby. Tired, Whiny whiny whiny. It's been driving us nuts!

We thought it was probably the aftereffects of the Triplets' Third Birthday Party (I know! Can you believe they're 3??). We had a busy day of traveling down to St. Paul & back yesterday...filled with trains, cake, presents, playing with grandparents & cousins, etc. Dahlia slept pretty good in the car & slept til 8:30 this morning, but still we thought it was just lingering tiredness from yesterday.

But oh the whining continued. Even after a nap. And a snack. And she didn't want to stay with us outside once it cleared up & got gorgeous out. Oh no. She was determined (& more whiny) to go inside. We were determined to keep her OUTSIDE. Finally Steve gave in & they came in.

I was holding her a while ago and realized, DANG she's hot. And yup, she's got a wee fever. Nothing too major but that plus her tiredness/crankiness....perhaps she has a bug.

So, she's lounging on the couch all tucked in, watching NEMO & loving the extra TLC & attention she's getting. Of course I offered her soup when we don't have any so I'm improvising:

And this is all for Mommy:

Delayed....

Response....

If you've sent the Boberg's something (in particular August & Dahlia) something recently I most likely HAVE received, oohed & ahhhhed, shook my head at your generosity, said something really nice about you, tried to get Steve's attention long enough to have HIM ooh & ahhh over said fabulous gift, tried to wrestle adorable baby clothes away from my toddler who thinks everything is HERS! & sent you a million kind thoughts & happy wishes in return....

I just haven't *quite* gotten the thank-yous out the door yet, but they're coming....

You know what is awesome??

5 hours of sleep in a row!!!!

That's right!

August slept from 9:30 til 3:30am last night. I was probably sleeping by 10 & I woke up at 3 thinking that he was probably not breathing but I restrained myself from going in there (& waking him up). Within about 25 minutes he was awake.

We woke again around 5:30 & I snuggled with him after that. He dozed off & on (as did I) until 8 when Dahlia started yelling for me. Yes! That's right -both kids let me sleep AND it is a rainy crappy day - totally conducive to laying in bed!

I feel like a new woman*.

*I know this likely won't last, or be repeatable any time soon, so I'm loving every moment of feeling slightly rested for the first time in about 6 weeks!

Dairy Delight!

I'm happy to report that I can eat dairy again.

I am not happy to report that NOT eating dairy did not solve my baby's tummy troubles. He is miserable about 90% of the day. We started Zantac for him yesterday....here's hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Target Field

Had a great time at the game. About 25 "Rossows" were in attendance. The new stadium is fantastic. It is so nicely done. Steve & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The game was fun & we won! Whohoo! Can't wait to go back again.
